Our expenses include advertising including brochure and poster printing and mailing, facilities expenses and security, registration materials, and food for all the volunteers and students. About half of these expenses are covered by the student's registration fee.
Our local conference is jointly hosted by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, and the University of the Pacific.
The San Joaquin EYH conference held last year exposed over 300 young women to scientific and technical career choices. We are expecting approximately 400 girls representing 140 schools in San Joaquin County and 200 volunteers to attend the 2008 conference.
The goals of EYH conferences are:
- Increase the interest of young women in mathematics and science through positive, hands-on experiences.
- Foster awareness of career opportunities in math and science related careers.
- Provide young women with opportunities to meet and interact with positive role models who are active in math and science related careers.
- Involve young women with limited opportunities for success in positive experiences in mathematics and science.
Every donation no matter how small adds up to make this conference a success! To make a donation make check payable to SJ EYH and mail to
